Employees Embrace Corporate Values and Contribute to Ambulance Donation

Billion Electric firmly believes that employees are the company’s most valuable asset, and their growth and development are closely tied to the success of the business. For many years, the company has not only focused on business expansion but also dedicated itself to providing a supportive work environment and opportunities for career development, fostering a strong sense of identity and belonging among employees.

Two and a half years ago, Mr. Hsu-Feng Cheng, then Chief Operating Officer, deeply grateful for the company’s support and nurturing throughout his career, proposed donating an ambulance in the name of Billion Electric upon leaving his position. This initiative was both an expression of appreciation and a reflection of the company’s values, aiming to give back to society while carrying forward the spirit of corporate culture.

The proposal gained wide support and admiration from senior management, highlighting the strong bond and shared values between employees and the company. Ultimately, the ambulance was donated to Hsinchu City, home to a key site of the Communications Business Division, strengthening local emergency response resources and improving public safety. This act not only demonstrated the joint commitment of employees and the company to social responsibility but also showcased the success of Billion Electric’s talent development, inspiring employees to contribute back to society.

Furthermore, Billion Electric and its subsidiary, Billion Watts, emphasized that the donation of the ambulance was more than just the handover of a vehicle—it represented the continuation of care and compassion. By equipping frontline firefighters and paramedics with better resources, it enhanced rescue efficiency and community safety. Looking ahead, the company will continue to foster talent and pass on its corporate culture, encouraging more employees to engage in public welfare. Through concrete actions, Billion Electric remains committed to advancing ESG goals and working together to build a safer and brighter future.

Safeguarding Power Stability — Billion Electric’s Contribution

On April 3, 2024, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien, disrupting Taiwan’s power system. Billion Electric and its subsidiary Billion Watts quickly donated NT$500,000 to the Disaster Relief Foundation and mobilized 15 energy storage sites across Taiwan (with a total capacity of 58 MW) to provide immediate power discharge, stabilizing the grid and preventing a large-scale blackout.

Within two minutes of the quake, power generators were affected, and system frequency dropped to 59.46 Hz—close to the blackout threshold. The storage systems discharged 510 MW, helping the frequency recover, and by 8:10 a.m. were supplying 1,281 MW, working alongside solar generation to stabilize electricity supply. With storage systems deployed nationwide, Billion Watts leveraged AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) technology to discharge power instantly, responding faster than conventional equipment and ensuring grid stability.

Following the earthquake, technical teams promptly inspected facilities to ensure the proper operation of solar and storage systems. This incident underscored the critical role of energy storage in maintaining grid stability and demonstrated the importance of Taiwan’s “Renewables + Storage” strategy. Billion Electric and Billion Watts will continue advancing storage technology to strengthen grid resilience and reduce the impact of extreme disasters on power supply. Guided by ESG principles, Billion Group is committed to working with government and industry partners to promote the 2050 net-zero carbon goal, building a more stable and sustainable energy environment for Taiwan.

Billion SDGs Multi-Stars Seed Project

A Green Future Begins with Education

Billion Group launched the SDGs Multi-Stars Seed Projects by bringing together its expertise in clean energy and power electronics. With a focus on elementary school energy education, campus collaboration, and environmental sustainability, the project supports schools in promoting environmental education and sustainability awareness through on-campus energy education sessions.

The project aligns with the energy and environmental education topics in Taiwan’s 2019 Curriculum Guidelines, focusing on renewable energy, energy saving and carbon reduction, climate action, and everyday green practices. It turns energy knowledge into simple, practical ideas that students can easily understand and apply in daily life. Through engaging talks, interactive Q&A, and everyday examples, the project helps children explore energy from daily life, understand why energy saving matters, and build basic awareness of climate change and environmental issues.

With education support at its core, the Multi-Stars Seed Projects aims to serve as a long-term partner for schools in environmental education and interdisciplinary learning. Since its first session at Beixin Elementary School in Xindian District in October 2023, Billion Group has continued to bring clean energy knowledge and sustainability values into campuses. As of December 30, 2025, the project has reached 12 elementary schools, engaged 2,917 students, and invested a total of NT$55,198.

The Billion Group ESG Volunteer Team once again set out to bring the "SDGs Multi-Stars Seed Projects" to Jingmei Elementary School.

Looking ahead, the Multi-Stars Seed Projects will continue to move forward step by step, guided by three principles: steady progress, quality learning, and local connection. Rather than measuring success only by the number of sessions or participants, Billion Group will continue to plan elementary school energy education activities based on company resources, school schedules, and each school’s willingness to collaborate.

The project will continue to share its progress, including participating schools, student attendance, employee and lecturer involvement, and feedback from schools.

Future activities will not be limited to one specific area. Priority will be given to schools near Billion Group’s operating sites, partner communities, or campuses with good opportunities for collaboration. In this way, the program can stay practical, warm, and meaningful while creating lasting value for students and local communities.
